Oakmont Senior Living has named Roberto Neri as the chef at Oakmont of Camarillo, a resort style senior living community set to open this winter at 305 Davenport St.
Neri comes to Oakmont after an international career in London and Italy. He partnered with a team to open a restaurant in London called Grano, which won the Carlton Award for best new Italian restaurant in the late 1990s. Neri moved to London after culinary school in Italy, where he grew up.
Opening new food establishments is not new to Neri. He joined the Four Seasons Hotel family in 2001 to open Quadrato in Canary Wharf, London, which was recognized by Zagat as one of the best restaurants in the United Kingdom in 2002. He also helped Four Seasons open restaurants in Amman, Jordan and Jackson Hole, Wyo.
Neri plans to use his expertise and love of cooking at Oakmont of Camarillo to produce gourmet, made-fromscratch meals that feature seasonal, local produce.
Oakmont of Camarillo is close to shopping, dining and arts and entertainment options
In addition to an assisted-living community, Oakmont will feature the Traditions program, which provides a calm environment and activities based on music, sensory and tactile stimulation for people with advanced memory loss. Trained team members will be on hand to engage with residents and give them the extra care they may need.
